'Sheer' means the 'cream' of something in the persian language and (k)Haest is a what they call  'cob' (like you would use to make a 'cob house.)  A natural made material made into Cob from a mixture of clay and straw. 

'Sheer' in english is a type of pure essence, a transparency of light or matter that has a reference to it's working by way of it's layered meanings and the influence it has whether we are inawareness of it or not.
